For MinimServer to support APE files, it would need to decode the APE format to read the tags and audio properties. This can't be delegated to ffmpeg.

ffprobe can output these for any media format, in json and other formats.

Hi all,

I have a question regarding APE.
Where is the benefit of MinimServer supporting it?
No download shop that I know of offers APE. So only source must be ripped files. Why would one rip to APE instead of flac or alac?
So why should one want support for it in MinimServer?
Just curious.
