Arguably, Lumin offers a smoother switch method between streaming services and local files. All your options are neatly layed out next to each other and can be chosen just using one mouse click. Using Lumin, I have no problem switching between sources and creating playlists with files from both sources.

Tidal will soon start broadcasting in MQA (it alreadyd does in its Windows PC app), which will give you a truly higher resolution rather than upsampling 16/44. Qobuz already streams in high resolution so there is no reason to move that functionality into MinimStreamer/Server in that case?
Simon has plenty of requests on his list (mine, and others, for implementing ReplayGain is still pending) so you need to argue the case well.

My Linn DS not support MQA as well as most of streamers and DACs.
I upsample 16/44 files in my NAS library by soxr VHQ in MinimStreamer with very positive impact SQ. And therefore I want upsample 16/44 files in Tidal also.
