Whilst it's not in Serento's recommend configuration @tiefling uses: Code: upnpCustom: multiTag={Artist,Genre}RE: Track Ordering Issue with DiscSubtitle - tiefling - 23-09-2026 13:36 I've been using a temporary workaround to map DiscSubtitle to another field for now - I thibk the handling issue is Serento side and it's due to get fixed in the next release. `upnpCustom: multiTag={Artist,Genre}` @simbun - What's the issue with this - I've had it for a while so excuse my brain, but isn't it supposed to allow Artist and Genre to have multiple values? It's not a Serento recommendation. RE: Track Ordering Issue with DiscSubtitle - simbun - 23-09-2026 14:26 (23-09-2026 13:36)tiefling Wrote: `upnpCustom: multiTag={Artist,Genre}`Using multiTag instructs MinimServer to send one artist/genre per xml tag to the control point, so relies on control points to merge them back together for presentation. Using track 8 from Elton John's The Lockdown Session as an example. With multiTag MinimServer sends (when indexing a traditional multi-valued tag): Code: <upnp:artist>Miley Cyrus, WATT, Elton John, Yo‐Yo Ma, Robert Trujillo, Chad Smith</upnp:artist>Without multiTag Code: <upnp:artist>Miley Cyrus</upnp:artist>Here's my brief testing of a few control points on Android: Code: BubbleUPnP PASSOnly BubbleUPnP displayed the full set of artists, the others displayed just the first/last. RE: Track Ordering Issue with DiscSubtitle - simoncn - 23-09-2026 15:44 I think you have this reversed. multiTag tells MinimServer to send multiple artists (etc.) in multiple DIDL-Lite tags (hence the name). Without multiTag, all artists (etc.) are merged into a single DIDL-Lite tag value. The "tag" in "multiTag" is a DIDL-Lite XML tag, not a metadata tag. multiTag was introduced at the request of the developers of the LUMIN app. They wanted a way to download the entire library and parse the resulting DIDL-Lite into artists, etc. Using a comma as a separator to parse a merged DIDL-Lite artist value doesn't work because an artist name might include a comma. As most control points couldn't handle the multiTag format (even though it is compliant with the UPnP specification), it was enabled only by this special option. RE: Track Ordering Issue with DiscSubtitle - simoncn - 23-09-2026 18:44 The filter controls which properties (metadata tags) are returned. It can't be used to filter property values. Does the control point have to request that artists be delivered individually as I've never seen MinimServer send it like that? Assuming the WiiM app could support that approach it would certainly go some way to making "Advanced" mode more useful. RE: Track Ordering Issue with DiscSubtitle - simoncn - 23-09-2026 21:12 Thanks for clarifying your reference to the filter string. This is not a standard UPnP filter string but a nonstandard MinimServer extension that was requested by the authors of JPLAY. If any other control point developer would like details of how this works, they can contact me by private message. RE: Track Ordering Issue with DiscSubtitle - tiefling - 28-09-2026 15:08 I can confirm that this was an app side bug with Serento (and mConnect), which has now been fixed in Serento. |
