Alek, my inference is that the PWD+Bridge lacks hardware support for gapless playback. That seems to need more processing power, or memory, or something else, than the current Bridge has. PS Audio is able to achieve gapless playback in some cases through its own EMM server by doing software tricks, but they are not generalizable to other servers. Hope that helps.

well, lack of gapless playback would be a total killer for me for any Dac or streaming product, however good it may sound.

+1. I have many classical albums that depend on this. Linn has got this right by producing a renderer that provides gapless playback with any UPnP server. It's unfortunate that PS Audio chose a different approach.

I own the PS Audio DAC, and I too agree. It is a very musical device with a real problem. The company is working on a software solution, supposed to be delivered early 2013. Of course owners are curious how it will turn out. I have to admit, it never occurred to me that any well-known company would design a network product that would NOT do gapless, in this day and age. Now that it's obvious they have, it still boggles my mind.

The smartest think they could - or better should - do is to adapt the Linn UPnP extensions rather than fiddle with their own mediocre "solutions". They are open standard and therefore readily available.
Maybe a few of you PS users should put some pressure.on those guys.
