RE: Initial setup - Ropet - 21-01-2020 16:08 I ran into the same problem as described in this thread. As I am not a "hacker" I expect that the program starts as a "normal" software. Are you aware of Minimserver working on a solution and if so, when do you expect this to be ready? Meanwhile I must say that I am reluctant to try make fixes. The instructions given here is not that clear to me. RE: Initial setup - simoncn - 21-01-2020 16:27 The problem is caused by Windows having an incorrect file association for the .jar file extension. All programs written in Java (not just MinimServer) would be affected by this issue. The simplest solution is to download and run the jarfix program. You can download it from this page. After you have downloaded the file, double-click on it to run it. You only need to do this once. After you have done this, double-clicking on the MinimServer desktop launch icon should run MinimServer. To confirm that MinimServer is running, look for a small minim icon (musical note) in the taskbar notification area at the lower right corner of your screen. This icon might appear in the overflow area for additional icons. RE: Initial setup - Ropet - 21-01-2020 17:25 Thanks... I did so and both Minimwatch and Minimsearch is now running. Now next is what to do. I will go through instructions on how to start. At this time I only see the icons... RE: Initial setup - simoncn - 21-01-2020 17:30 If you are running MinimServer on your Windows PC, you don't need to run MinimWatch as well. MinimWatch is needed if you are running MinimServer on a NAS. The step-by-step instructions on this page are a good place to start. You also need a UPnP control point and renderer to browse and play music. Do you have these? Everything is up and running now. The scanning of my over 4,000 albums was quiet fast. I bought a Lumin U1 Mini bridge just before Christmas and I have set up Windows laptop as a server with JRiver. It worked quite well but my intention is to install a NAS. But before I wanted to test MinimServer (recommended by Lumin) still using my laptop. What I was most afraid of was the tagging but it looks quite ok. There are some changes to be made, like double genres, typ ”Jazz” and ”jazz”, ”classic” and ”classical”. So next step is to get mp3tag. I was also worried about playing dsd files (clicks between tracks) but it works perfectly. MinimServer will be a good tool for me... RE: Initial setup - Ropet - 28-01-2020 10:22 After some initial work and cleaning with my files after transferring all tracks and albums from JRiver it looks great. Everything seems to work great and the Lumin App shows everything that is is supposed to. However, when checking MinimServer log report, it shows 15 lines saying the following. MinimServer incorrect format for object ID '0$albums$showaa' Is it actually saying that there are no issues ('0$albums...)? Or is it something else? Or is it an information I should get from Mp3Tag? RE: Initial setup - simoncn - 28-01-2020 11:06 This message is caused by your control point (the LUMIN app) using cached local information that is out of sync with MinimServer. If you reload the MinimServer library into the LUMIN app after making changes to the library, you should not see these messages. I have done this including rebooting the whole chain but no changes. It seems to create this message for each album I play so I guess there is a fundamental error/missmatch, but I can’t see it. All my files are set up in JRiver but as far as I can see I only use std tags. The issue is not a ”showstopper” as everything works but I want undersstand and correct. It is more of a hygenic factor. My MprTag is Set to Swedish. Could this be the cause. For example the metadata for ”Year” is ”År” in Swedish used in the datasheet. If so, is there way to change my Mp3Tag to the English version (which is fine for me)? From where does the ”Property” takes the information? From the metadata or from the spreadsheet? In the box ”Index Tags” I use English, or should I use Swedish in my case? Other hints on how to find the issue? RE: Initial setup - simoncn - 30-01-2020 09:49 My apologies. I missed the "incorrect format" in the message. This indicates a different problem from the situation that I was describing. I will investigate and post back here. RE: Initial setup - simoncn - 30-01-2020 11:10 This looks like it might be a problem with the LUMIN app. The correct format for this object ID is '0$albums$showaa.0' and MinimServer should be sending this to the LUMIN app. I will see if I can reproduce the problem here. Which version of the LUMIN app are you using and on which device? |
