BBC HLS streams outside the UK - DavidK - 07-08-2015 10:42

Hi,

Is my assumption correct that the BBC HLS streams are not available outside the UK?
I made the configurations as described on "Playing BBC HLS radio streams on a Naim streamer" and used the supplied m3u sample file.
The BBC WorldService is the only one that works.

Regards,
David

There are 96 kbps HLS streams available outside the UK. In the example URLs, you need to change "uk/sbr_high" to "nonuk/sbr_low".

I am having a problem with the BBC HLS streams at the moment. I am outside of the UK. The stream stops and starts every few minutes on all channels I have set the BBC radio.m3u file to nonuk and Low is there anything else I should be doing to fix this niggling problem. Regards

Are you using the latest 0.5.17 version of MinimStreamer?

Yes 0.5.17 is installed. I am streaming from a Qnap nas to a pioneer n50 streamer

Before you start streaming, use 'Show log" in MinimWatch to open the log window, then set the logging level to Debug. What do you see in the log window when you get an interruption?

Now I am getting a fie format not supported on my N50 after I was changing a few things on my Qnap Nas this morning e.g. setting static IP address etc is ffmpeg on the Nas installed already ?

Yes, ffmpeg is preinstalled as part of the QNAP firmware.

Yes, ffmpeg is preinstalled as part of the QNAP firmware.

I finally got rid of the "file not supported"by going back to my Nas and changing from static IP address

the debug messages you asked for are here

The dropouts are quite frequent now on BBC Radio 1 every 1minute
