Configuring a custom Date Added tag in Minimserver - stampie - 04-03-2016 14:52

Whilst we wait for Minimserver to have functionality for recently added music, I have started using a custom tag field on my library for new music of 'Date Added', in format dd/mm/yyyy.

I have this as part of IndexTags, so I can see the content, but don't know how to configure it so that the sort order is based on date. At the moment it just sorts alphabetically, so 01/01 - 01/02 - 02/01. Can this be done?

Also, when I have multiple items added on a day I would rather just see a list, rather than the usual subtree headings, album, artist etc. Can I do this just for this IndexTag?

Thanks
Nick

I think if you just reverse the date it will sort properly, I.e. Year/month/day in the format yyyy/mm/dd including zeros. For what it's worth I do this as well but only year and month (yyyy-mm) which then displays in buckets for the month added.

The tagging format for the Date tag is yyyy, yyyy-mm or yyyy-mm-dd. If you use any of these formats for your custom tag, it will sort correctly.

It isn't possible to configure a custom tag to display a flat list of items. To see this list, you need to select # items after selecting Date Added.

Thanks, all sorted. I also added '-Date Added' to IndexTags to ensure I got the newest additions at the top (in case anyone else wants to use this approach)
