Having a strange issue here & no idea what causes it. The Date tags appear to be sorted randomly.
My properties are as follows:
Indextags: KlassikGenre=Klassik:Klassik Bibliothek, ComposerSort:Composer, Composition, Conductor, Genre, Group, +Date, Artist, AlbumArtist, All Artists, Orchestra, Soloist, #AudioData:Music Info, #AudioQuality
ItemTags: Composer,TitleSort,CompositionSort
tagOptions: Date.yearOnly.*, Album.sortTags={Date,Artist},all.ignore.sort={The,A,An,Der,Die,Das,Ein,Eine,Le,La,Les,Un,Une,Il,El}
tagCustom: AlbumArtist.displayRole={artist}, Composer.displayRole={artist}
tagUpdate: /Volumes/Tunes/tagupdate.txt

I tried your settings (except for tagUpdate) and I don't see the problem. Could it be caused by something in your tag update file?

Thanks for this. It doesn't do anything with Date tags, so it shouldn't affect the Date sort order.
Does stopping and restarting Kazoo make any difference? Have you tried it with another control point? I have had a number of reports recently about issues with Kazoo getting out of sync with MinimServer.
Do you see any messages in the MinimServer log that refer to Date tags?
What happens if you remove the Date.yearOnly.* setting and restart MinimServer? Does this change the Date sort order?

Have tried all of the above except removing Date.yearOnly. Will try that.
Volumio shows the same issue.
Will check logs.

Ok I removed the alphaGroup: all=50 and now have a chronological order again.

I didn't see alphaGroup in your list of properties. I will investigate why this is causing a problem with the Date sort order.
