Docker-compose - lg.lindstrom - 23-03-2023 15:03 Hi I just finished the my new home server replacing my old QNAP. I have been running minimserver on QNAP but I would like to move it to my server. My plan is to run as much as possible in docker containers. To administrate all containers I use Portainer. Is there a docker-compose set up for minimserver. I've tried to translate docker commands to docker-compose "commands" but no luck. Logs tells me it is running but and I can access the server, but everything is empty. Can anyone help with a docker-compose.yml file that works. PS, why am I blocked from the minimserver 2 thread? RE: Docker-compose - simoncn - 23-03-2023 15:48 There are full instructions for running MinimServer in a Docker container in this section. MinimServer 2 was released over three years ago and all forum discussions are now about MinimServer 2, not MinimServer 0.8. Given this, it no longer makes sense to have a separate forum section for MinimServer 2. Previous discussions in this section are still available for browsing but no new posts are allowed. Yes,, I am aware of that instruction. I have tried to translate it to a docker-compose.yaml file. It seems that minimserver starts up. I can see it from a upnp control point. But it is all empty. If I look at the docker logs,, there is nothing. Not much for you to work with but I was hoping somebody had a working compose file. Then I can exclude that part. RE: Docker-compose - simoncn - 23-03-2023 16:58 If your library appears empty, it is likely that your library is not mounted as /Music in the Docker container (see step 3 of the instructions). Another possibility is that the contentDir property is not set to the value /Music. You should be able to check the contentDir setting from the MinimServer configuration web page or from MinimWatch. Thanks for your suggestions. I am not sure what happened bud fiddling around seems to helped now it is working. To monitor my server I am running Prometheus and Grafana. For this to work I need access to logs from Minimserver. I can use Minimwatch to manually check the log outputs from Minimserver. If I look at the container logs,, there are "nothing". How do I go about this? I would like to access Minimserver logs so Grafana can process them and send a warning if errors occur. RE: Docker-compose - simoncn - 24-03-2023 10:38 The MinimServer log is in the minimserver.log file in the /opt/minimserver/data directory. Okay, then I could create a volume mapping so I can access it from the host. Somewhere I read that is not the best solution ? RE: Docker-compose - simoncn - 24-03-2023 16:11 You can change the location of the MinimServer log file by setting the .logFile property on the System tab. You can specify any absolute path, so you can place the log file on a volume that is mapped from the host.. |
