Synology DS213j MinimServer not supported! - psme - 17-07-2013 08:50
A friend is trying to install MinimServer on his new Synology NAS. Java is installed fine. But MinimServer gave a error about "the platform is not supported"! The NAS is the newest DS213j.
I checked wiki and this new DS213j uses a new CPU Marvell Armada 370 ARMv7. Is it the reason that the regular ARM package doesn't work?
Will there be a new MinimServer version soon?

Yes. The MinimServer Synology ARM package contains a list of supported architectures, and this list doesn't include armada370. I will upload a new package later today that includes armada370 in the list of supported architectures.

I'm working on this, but it isn't ready yet. The armada370 package that I will upload today will be based on the 0.72 code.

What about a package for the Freescale PowerQUICC III MPC8533E processors?
Is that difficult?
Reason for asking is I managed to get Java running on my DS410, and using it in combination with BubbleServer. But I'd like to switch to MinimServer.

Thanks for your quick reply.
I used the Debian change root procedure ( http://www.hera.cc/2010/11/installer-java-sur-nas-synology-ds210/ ) but updated its Java to the latest version: 7 update 21 by Oracle. I am not a Linux guru though but copying winxi's approach I think I can manage.
BTW I am in China timezone (GMT +7) so you'll not be hearing from me for some time. No rush needed any way.

Please can you provide the exact download link to the Oracle JDK or JRE you installed.
