Help Miniserver not indexing after 273 update - Claudius2k - 17-03-2026 01:59

I applied 273 now the reindex on the server rips through 10,000 tracks in seconds instead of 10 minutes. When I access through Wiim-Home only the tracks are populated not albums, artists or album artists - empty. The reindex in Wiim-Home runs crazy fast too. I tried removing the cache file and running again. No difference. I checked the log and there is no message only that it started.

I am not seeng this problem. Are you sure the contentDir property is set correctly? Do you see any error messages in the MinimServer log?

Another possibility is an incorrect setting for excludePattern.

Thank you for the suggestions. I restarted the NAS. Now at least Minimserver reindexing takes 10 minutes (like before) and the cache files look much much larger like normal size 2.8M vs 3K. I have a problem still with Wiim Home seeing the indexed tags. 9800 tacks, 0 albums, 0 artists 0 album artists. I am wondering if the problem is in the metadata or it is now a Wiim Home issue. Is there an easy way to verify what Minimserver indexed as valid besides accessing it through the WiiM Home app? I tried reinstalling the client 'Wiim Home' app. No unusual messages in the Minimserver log.

You could try a different app such as BubbleUPnP (Android only) or mconnect (Android or iOS).

Try switching to "Legacy Mode" in the WiiM Home app:
  • Browse > Home Music Share > MinimServer[SYSMAIN]
  • Select the ellipsis in the top right hand corner
  • Switch to Legacy Mode
"Advanced" mode has a few UI features that are missing from its Legacy implementaion, but it's more trouble than it's worth.

If you're happy to use Legacy mode then it's best to perform a WHA reinstall, as there's currently a bug (at least that's what I'm calling it) where, every time you open the app it performs a full refresh from MinimServer. This is triggered by any use of "Advanced" mode, not your current mode, hence the need to reinstall.

Thank you. Fails in legacy mode also. The data just isn't loading, assuming that Minimserver meta data is valid? All I get is track data the other attributes are blank (oh and formats DSF, FLAC) contains data ion the app). But Artist, Alubums Genres etc all blank

The simplest way to confirm whether this is a Wiim issue or MinimServer issue is to try a different app (see post #5).

It looks like the WiiM Home app has just updated; changes include:
Quote:NAS Browsing: Optimizes NAS browsing cache to reduce outdated data.
I'm not having any issues myself (Android), but could you try another app as suggested by @simoncn

RE: Help Miniserver not indexing after 273 update - Claudius2k - 18-03-2026 01:13

What I am trying to do is rule out any inconsistency in the Minimserver application data. With the WiiM Home app all I can see is Track counts - and tracks counts segregated by audio format DSD & FLAC. No Artists, Albums or Album Artists are visible (count 0) yet 9800 tracks. I subsetted some tracks in a smaller folder just to see if there were issues in some of the data thinking a smaller sample might work (it didn't). So I downloaded Mconnect IOS lite and accessed the Minimserver to see if I can see these additional indexed attributes in the Mconnect app. If I could, that would prove there is nothing wrong with my Minimserver metadata. Unfortunately, I see the same results using mComnnect. All I can see is item counts for tracks, recently Added, recently Played, Audio Data, Audio Format, untagged and folder (view). No Artists, Albums or Album artists so (if I am using Mconnect correctly) I am thinking the additional meta data is not there or it is being blocked somehow?
Note: Using mConnect, when I browse 'untagged' it seems all of my tracks appear there, yet when I physically edit the tracks with a tag editor, everything is there just like always. What does this mean? Tonite I see there is a new release 274 waiting...do I install it?
