Router upgrade

We use Virgin Media to supply internet - digits good and fast but support pathetic.
Recently negotiated a new contract and they said "you'd better have a new hub".
It arrived by post and I installed it. Called Hub 5.
Much faster - 250 Mb/s.
But what I was not expecting was a noticeable improvement in my digital hifi system.
Which is Linn Klimax DS, old pizza box style with organic and utopik boards. Fed by my Melco N1/A, Melco switch, opto-coupler.

Anyone had similar experiences?
