Minim problem after firmware update
I have a QNAP TS439 ProII.
I have had Minimserver v0.63 running for quite some time with no problems, and very good it is too. I updated the QNAP firmware to version 3.8.1 and now Minimserver isn't working. In the QPKG centre it says it is running. Minimwatch says content directory is not valid. This is set to /Qmultimedia and as I say has been working up till the firmware update. Help needed to get it up and running again. I did try changing the directory to /Multimedia but to no avail |

This release is known to have problems (as discussed on the QNAP forum), so I recommended downgrading to 3.7.3, which solved the problem. (There might have been other factors as well.) Edit: I've now upgraded my TS-119 from 3.7.3 to 3.8.1, and MinimServer is working OK. The directory needs to be either /share/Multimedia or /share/Qmultimedia, depending on your NAS model. |

RE: Minim problem after firmware update
Thanks Simon for the prompt reply
Have reverted to older firmware and everything appears to be OK. Always a bit nervous when changing firmware versions ! |

RE: Minim problem after firmware update
I guess the general advise for firmware upgrades (on whatever NAS model) is not to update immediately after a new version is out, particularly if there are no new features in that new release that you desperately need or have been waiting for (like support for larger disks, fixing of truly nasty errors in previous releases etc...)
If after two or three months no other user has reported any significant problems on the NAS's support forum, it is usually safe to upgrade - at least thats what I do ![]() bbrip |

RE: Minim problem after firmware update
Hi,
I am using: 3.8.1 Build 20121205 on my old QNAP TS410, and it Minim Server runs well. Even though the Java part says it is for an X86 Based NAS, it works like a charm. By the way, great application Simon. |
