Display info: BBC DASH on Cambridge CXN (v1) UPnP renderer
Hi Simon,
I have just set up the BBC DASH playlist with Minimstreamer (following your super clear How To - thanks for that). I have the playlist on my Synology (DSM7) NAS and am using a Cambridge CXN (v1) as my UPnP renderer. (Spoofing my NAS location to the UK (via the DNS) as I am in Europe). Everything works a treat, however I am wondering is there is anything in the m3u file that I can edit to tidy up the metadata the CXN is displaying: Example: m3u line: #EXTINF:-1,[R2;aac,48000] BBC Radio 2 http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/man...io_two.mpd The CXN shows: [R2] BBC Radio 2 - Unknown album, Unknown artist Would love to be able to tidy this up (lose the R2 and and the "unknown" text). I imagine this is just how the stream is recognised by the CXN (and or NAS), and I stuck with it, but maybe you have some secret wizardry that you can share? Many thanks, John |

RE: Display info: BBC DASH on Cambridge CXN (v1) UPnP renderer
The [R2] is coming from MinimServer. You can remove it by changing the #EXTINF line to the following:
#EXTINF:-1,[;aac,48000] BBC Radio 2 The 'unknown' text is coming from the CXN. MinimServer is not sending any album or artist information for this stream and the CXN is being "helpful" by telling you that.

Did you edit it exactly as I posted? You must not remove '[' ']' or ';', only R2.

My apologies. As well as removing [R2] from the display, this also disables MinimStreamer processing of the stream. Some streams can still play in this mode but the BBC DASH streams cannot. It isn't possible at present to remove [R2] while still using MinimStreamer to process the stream.

Thanks for investigating. I wonder if that is also the case for the HLS stream. I might test that. |
