I reinstalled the older version, and it works fine. I am using windows 7 32 bit. Please help best |

If the previous version is still running, uninstall won't delete the files, and the new version won't install correctly. Removing the entry from the programs panel won't solve this problem. The only solution is to delete the files manually. |

RE: MinimServer 0.8.1 is now available
Hello Simon,
I hope you had a good Christmas? Thanks (again) for the great work on Minimserver. I've been using it for two years or so now, and I find it to be really really good (as I have said already in a couple of posts :-) ) However.... I have a problem with the latest version - 0.8.1, and yes I have already installed the update 12 :-) Newly added files to one of the directories that Minimserver indexes do not get detected, do not show up in either Kinsky and Lumin, and I get about a zillion error messages in the log... Let me describe my situation. I use a Linn Akurate installation. I have Minimserver watching 3 directories: \Volumes\NAS-Pro\Music Collection <- this is the main directory, all files in AIFF format \Volumes\NAS-Pro\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music <- this is music in iTunes formats that I'm working on converting to AIFF format, after which it gets moved to ...\Music Collection \Volumes\NAS-Pro\JUST ADDED <- this is the directory that I first put al newly found music in, so that I can listen to it, after which it gets moved to ...\Music Collection I use the OS X version of Minimserver on a Mac Mini, and MinimWatch on my iMac. I Use XLD to convert files to AIFF format, and Metadatics to alter the metadata if needed. I furthermore use Kinsky on my iPad as my main control point. Since using Minimserver 0.8.1, music that I put in ...\JUST ADDED does not get indexed and does not show up in Kinsky. When I rescan (in Minimwatch) and check the logs, I get zillion lines of the following: Error: unexpected end of file at offset 67468302 in file Rolling Stones/December's Children (And Everybody's) [Remaster 2010] (HD Audio)/Rolling Stones - December's Children (And Everybody's) [Remaster 2010] (HD Audio) - 01.10 - Gotta Get Away (HD).aiff (length 67468302) Error: unexpected end of file at offset 229883398 in file Duke Ellington/Side By Side [Remaster 2012] (HD Audio)/Duke Ellington - Side By Side [Remaster 2012] (HD Audio) - 01.01 - Stompy Jones (HD).aiff (length 229883398) Error: unexpected end of file at offset 63270932 in file Peter Gabriel/Secret World Live/Secret World Live (disc 1)/Peter Gabriel - Secret World Live (disc 1) - 01.08 - Kiss That Frog.aiff (length 63270932) Also, further down in the log, I get the following: Warning: conflicting ALBUMARTIST values ignored for album Time After Time 16 Soft Pop Songs on disc 1 first conflicting value: Alison Moyet first conflicting item: Weak in the Presence of Beauty second conflicting value: Earth, Wind & Fire second conflicting item: That's the Way of the World Warning: ignored conflicting DISCSUBTITLE value The Joshua TreeBonus Audio CD in file U2/The Best Of 1980-1990/U2 - The Best of 1980-1990 - 03 - Sweetest Thing.m4a The log concludes with: MinimServer[MacMini-Woonkamer.local] is running I have no idea what this all means. Mind you: there has also been a (beta) update to the Linn Konfig software and to the firmware of both the Akurate DS and the Akurate Kontrol. Don't know if that is also influencing the situation. I have attached an excerpt of the log file. Please let me know if you need anything more from me in order for you to be able to look into this error. It seems I can't attach an example of a file that doesn't get indexed - because of the file size. Greets and thanks, Willem |

RE: MinimServer 0.8.1 is now available
Hello Simon,
I am a new user to MinimServer having just recently installed 0.8.1 and update 12, running on ReadyNas Duo v2. As I new user, I may be doing something more fundamentally wrong however, I am getting the same type of errors Willem has encountered e. g. Scanning directory Sgt. Pepper_s Lonely Hearts Club Band/07 Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!.aiff (length 28301366) Error: unexpected end of file at offset 28952854 in file The Beatles/Sgt. Lucy In the Sky with Diamonds I am receiving lots of these types of errors when rescanning and consequently not being able to discover all my AIFF music on the NAS (approx 150 CD cannot be either found either partially or in their entirety ) Appreciate your help. The values must match exactly using a case-sensitive comparison. For example, the log file you attached contains this message: Warning: conflicting ALBUMARTIST values ignored for album Boven on disc 1 first conflicting value: Bløf first conflicting item: Welkom Thuis second conflicting value: BLØF second conflicting item: Liefde and Drank which appears to be caused by a case difference between the two values. Quote: This message means you have used two different DISCSUBTITLE values in the same file. Each file can contain a maximum of one DISCSUBTITLE value. Also, the log you attached contains messages like: Warning: ignored DISCSUBTITLE value 'The MiracleBonus EP' with no disc number in file Queen/Greatest Hits II/Queen - Greatest Hits II - 04 - I Want It All.m4a This is telling you that the DISCSUBTITLE value won't be used by MinimServer because the file doesn't contain a DISCNUMBER tag.
