I just moved the mimim server from one computer to another and forgot to move the config file too. Now I have to find out all the options once more which is a hard job because I don't understand most of the help texte (not because they are in english but because I’m not a specialist).

The kos annoying problem is: Before I could select a composer (Beethoven), after this an album (Klaviersonaten) and so I found a list of the compisitons in this album. The files are tagged with the name of the compisition in the »grouping« tag. The help text seems zo say, that in this care the tracks are displayed grouped, but this is not so. I remember, there was one more option to set in order to geht ehis result but I forgot which one and can’t find it.

Who can help me here?

The name of the tag that controls the grouped display is Group, not Grouping. If your files are tagged with Grouping, you would need to specify Grouping:Group in aliasTags.

This has no effect. There is no difference. If I didn't have it before I’d say it is impossible. Anyway, it doesn’t work as described. There was a Trick I forgot and can’t find out now.

No I deleted all the other options. I have just:

aliasTags = Grouping:Group
indexTags = Composer:Komponist, Album, Group

The grouping has no effect.

There is something more: If I select a composer I get the list of the Albums. If I select an album, I get another list which contains just this album. When I select this album I get the ungrouped list of tracks in the album. (This is not as bad as the music app in iOS 7, but nearly...) The first issue (the list with just one album after choosing an album) was present also before. But that the goutping has no effect is new.

What tag name did you use to add the group name or composition name to your track files?

Which tagging program did you use to do this?

What format are your track files (e.g., FLAC, MP3, M4A, MP4)?

I just had a sort of flash back: Suddenly I had the impression, I saw once upon a time »Contentgroup:Group« in aliasTag. And that was right and it helps. Sorry for the trouble.

Just one more question for finish: Where on my Mac can I find the config file? I’d like to save it for later times...

I'm glad to hear you have found the solution.

The minimserver.config file is in the folder /Users/<your-user-name>/Library/MinimServer. This folder is hidden by Finder, so you need to select Go to Folder and type the full path.
