Tagging Query

I wish for the following:
When I Go into Linn Kinsky, and click on the Minimserver icon, I would like (as a minimum)to be presented with the following choices:
Albums
Items
Artist
Folder View
When I click on Artist, I would like to be presented with an alphabet, which when I click on a letter, all the relevant artists appear.
When I click on an Artist, I would like all the Albums to appear.
At the moment, when I click on Artist, I get all the Artists from A - Z.
I have asked this question before, but I'm damned if I can find it in the forums.
My apologies for asking a numpty question.
