I don't think adding a switch in the way you suggest will make any difference. A 30-foot length of Ethernet cable (Cat 5E or higher) should not cause the problems you have described.
It sounds like there is some other problem with your network setup. Are you using your Melco devices as renderers, servers or both? What other devices are involved (servers, control points and renderers) as well as your Melco devices? Please describe your complete network setup. |
