Not sure but I think you've already purchased a new device, but (and this is perhaps a question to Simon as much as to the OP) would an alternative be to buy something like a RaspberryPi?
You can install Minimserver on the RaspberryPi which looks to the existing NAS via NFS or SMB for the files. Eloise |
