Server Share with free access
On my QNAP NAS, MinimServer2 creates a share named MinimServer automatically, which is accessible without any restrictions. I could change the access rights (to allow only specific users authentified by password), but I assume tools like minimwatch will lose some functionality as it does not seem to have a way to set a user/password for accessing the share (e.g. for the logfile).

a) Is there some comprehensive documentation what this share is used for?
b) Could you put it on the roadmap to optionally use a password on the share (means any tools who want/need to access it need a password configuration option)

RE: Server Share with free access
Because of the way this shared folder is created, it is not possible to add a password when it is created. You should be able to modify the access permissions to do this. This will not affect the operation of MinimServer or MinimWatch. The shared folder has the following purposes:

1) Keep all MinimServer log files and configuration files together in a single place
2) Retain these files after MinimServer is uninstalled
3) Make these files accessible for diagnostic and debugging purposes

So MinimWatch is not accessing files through this shared folder?
Then I don't understand what is the benefit of a shared folder. A local folder would work just as well for 1-3?
Can it be made optional then?

A local folder would not work for 3. Only shared folders can be accessed by the user via QTS File Station.

Alright, I'm just changing access rights. Thanks for explaining.
