Minimwatch on Apple Silicon
Hi all
I run Minimwatch 2.2, update 119 every couple of month on my MacBook Pro running Tahoe 26.4.1. - just to check on my Raspberry Musicserver running minimserver 2.2, update 274 Recently, a popup window appears upon start of Minimwatch letting me know that support for Intel-based apps will end in future version of macOs. As I understand it, Minimwatch 2.2 is for Intel and Apple Silicon. Can I disregard that pop-up message? Greetings from Switzerland, Peter |

RE: Minimwatch on Apple Silicon
MinimWatch is a universal binary, so it can run on either Intel or Apple Silicon. The present version of MinimWatch should be able run on future versions of macOS but this will need to be verified what the next macOS version is available.
What model of MacBook Pro do you have? Is it Intel or Apple Silicon? I have tried to check this message myself but my MacBook will not let me update from 26.4 to 26.4.1. I don't see the message on 26.4. |

RE: Minimwatch on Apple Silicon
It is a brand new 16 inch M5 MacBook Pro. Frankly, I am not 100% sure if minimwatch is the source of said pop-up. Since I did not do anything else, this was just an assumption. And it did happen only twice. So I will let this issue drop. thanks anyway for your reply.

It's from Apple and it's warning the user that in the future Universal Apps that also have Intel components will no longer work and to get a 'pure' Silicon version, which I expect all developers to create. And all the Intel machines will only be able to use software that works natively with the Intel Chip. I think any machine pre-2020 uses Intel. Lotsa fun ![]() AS |
