Minimserver does not find Sony Music Centre Control Point
Hi, This is a revisit to an old problem; we have a Synology 216j NAS, running DSM6, but can't see Minimserver in a Sony Music Centre app, only the 'Archer_D2' on the network - which is the name of our TPlink router.
All is well in Bubble though. I note that previously someone mentioned IGMP settings; this is set to 'IGMP Snooping - Enabled' It's odd that I can see the router but not minimserver. I am running Windows 10 and Minimserver 0.8.4 update 97 Any ideas? It's not a big issue as bubble is superior to Sony but it's annoying when you want to switch from Radio to Albums and have to open another app! |

RE: Minimserver does not find Sony Music Centre Control Point
This problem might be caused by having IGMP snooping enabled. If you set this to disabled and restart everything, does this make any difference?

I'll try that Simon, as soon as everyone is off the net. Thanks

RE: Minimserver does not find Sony Music Centre Control Point
Has there been any fix with this?
I tried IGMP enable or disabled. For some reason all my other DLNA server shows up except the Minimserver But then minimserver shows up on my other DLNA clients too... so strange |

RE: Minimserver does not find Sony Music Centre Control Point
I have the same issue as reported by mbze430. Running the latest versions of Minimserver on Windows 10 Pro and Sony's Music Center app on an iPhone XR. IGMP snooping is disabled. I have only one server which all DLNA clients can see as well as the 8player Pro control app but not the Music Center app. Maybe there is an issue with the latter which prevents it from seeing Minimserver.

RE: Minimserver does not find Sony Music Centre Control Point
Could someone who is experiencing this issue contact Sony technical support and ask for advice?

RE: Minimserver does not find Sony Music Centre Control Point
I have explained the issue to Sony Tech support noting that all DLNA renderers on my network can access MinimServer (as well as the 8Player control app) except my Sony SRS-X88 wireless speaker in combination with the MusicCenter app. Awaiting their response.

RE: Minimserver does not find Sony Music Centre Control Point
Interesting response from Sony. For clarity, the DLNA server that is referred to is MinimServer running on a Windows 10 Pro tablet. Installing Win 8 or Win 7 is not an option for me.
Thank you for your patience. We are afraid that we can not guarantee the functionality of the DLNA server you mentioned on Windows 10 and we recommend testing the device with Windows 8 or Windows 7 as described in the links below: Windows 7: https://helpguide.sony.net/speaker/srs-x...34040.html Windows 8: https://helpguide.sony.net/speaker/srs-x...34038.html Should you have any further questions, please feel free to reply to this email. Thank you for your enquiry. Yours sincerely, Youssif SONY SUPPORT TEAM |

RE: Minimserver does not find Sony Music Centre Control Point
Yes, this is interesting. Is this perhaps a hint from Sony that they know about a specific incompatibility with Windows 10? I have not heard about any such issues from other MinimServer users.
