Minimserver2 functionality

I've been a satisfied user of MS for some while. I've just purchased a Melco N1 and installed SongKong and MS2 this evening. Will the new MS support options such as transcoding (e.g. flac:Wav) and changing the index tags which I have done in the previous version still running on my PC? Are these features for which the licence will be required?

With MinimServer 2, both of these features require a full license.

I willl put together a detailed list of what is supported in Starter Edition and add this to the online documentation.

Hi,
I had been using Minim on my Melco N10 but now I have the updated verson with few features and no Minimwatch to configure it. Can I load the version that I had, which I still have on a usb drive over it on the N10?

You need to use MinimWatch 2 to configure MinimServer 2. You can download MinimWatch 2 from this page.

After you have installed MinimWatch 2, you can access the full set of configuration options by activating a 30-day free trial of MinimServer 2. To do this, select the License tab from the MinimServer configuration web page. You can select Confgure MinimServer from the Settings > Music Database menu to see the URL for accessing this page.

The new 4.01 firmware does not support installing the older version of MinimServer from your USB drive. If you want to do this, you will need to downgrade your N10 to firmware version 1.03.

The link to MinimWatch 2 you have posted, is it working OK? I have an N100 with the new EX SW running on it and I have activated the trial MS2 licence, I have downloaded MW2 off this link, installed it but it does not load or do anything at all, rebooted Mac and nothing.

Old version of MW worked perfectly (on another computer)

Thanks for letting me know about this. The MinimWatch 2.0.4 downloads for Mac and Linux were bad. I have replaced these with corrected versions. If you download again, it should work.
