What are you using different profile for ?
Hi all fan of minimserver !!!
In the brand new Minimserver2, there is an interesting feature, which is the capacity to have different profiles. What are you using this feature for ? As for me, my main usage is that the famous conversion dsf:-/wav24;176 which is supposed to work as long as the render publishes the format it accepts, does not work on any on my renderer (Klimax, Oppo and Chromecast) as they don't seem to publish properly Therefore I created one profile without the dsf conversion when I listen on a renderer which can play dsf, and one profile with dsf:wav24;176 when I listen on a renderer which does not play dsf. |

RE: What are you using different profile for ?
My default profile transcodes every audio file to WAV for rendering on my NAIM streamer and Moode streamer headphone setups. Now I have added a second profile so that I can switch and download files to foobar2000mobile on my iPhone in native m4a/flac for offline listening.
Works great! |

RE: What are you using different profile for ?
I have DSP enabled in one profile and none in the other. I wish I was able to switch between them on the fly...

RE: What are you using different profile for ?
When I switch between profiles it seems like MinimServer restarts. On the fly means to switch between profile while a song is being played.

You can play a song (or songs) while MinimServer is restarting, as long as you have queued the songs with your control point before the restart. Is this not working for you?

One of the reasons I left Sonos was that all my music had to be in one library. Before Minimserver 2 I used a Linux computer where Minimserver 1 ran with 4 instances. Hans |

Is this not working for you? I was not trying to do that. I was trying to play a song and switch to a different profile during the song. I will retest tonight. |
