LibjliNotFound error message when first run MinimServer2
Installing MinimServer 2 on an iMac, I deleted the existing MinimServer application, downloaded and installed MinimServer2 OK but got the above error message when I tried to run it.
Help please! (I have already installed MinimServer2 successfully on a Synology NAS and have a full licence.) System: ALAC iTunes library on Synology DS923+ (running MinimServer) > NetGear router > Optical isolation > dCS Network Bridge (controlled by Galaxy Tab S2 tablet running BubbleUPnP&Mosaic) > PS Audio DirectStream DAC > Primare A60 > Harbeth SHL5plus 40th Anniversary model |

RE: LibjliNotFound error message when first run MinimServer2
Which version of Java do you have installed on your iMac and which version of macOS are you running?

RE: LibjliNotFound error message when first run MinimServer2
Please open a Terminal window and type this command:
/usr/libexec/java_home This should display the location where Java is installed. What output do you see from the command? |

RE: LibjliNotFound error message when first run MinimServer2
This is the wrong version of Java. It needs to be Java 8 or later. I suggest you install the latest Java (Java 14) by downloading JDK 14 from this page and following the instructions on this page. After you have done this, the /usr/libexec/java_home command should return
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk-14.jdk/Contents/Home |

RE: LibjliNotFound error message when first run MinimServer2
This is the wrong version of Java. The 1.6.0 means it is Java 6. MinimServer 2 requires Java 8 or later. Please see my previous post for details of how to install a later version of Java.

RE: LibjliNotFound error message when first run MinimServer2
All working OK. It took some time finding how to download Java SDK 14. It is available on another page than the instruction page you link to.
Thanks for your quick response Simon. RE: LibjliNotFound error message when first run MinimServer2
I have updated my earlier post to add a link to the JDK 14 download page.
My apologies for the inconvenience of needing to do this. I will investigate why the Java 8 installer that you used isn't working correctly. There is another Java 8 download that does work with MinimServer (see other related threads). |
