How Many ContentDir

Hello,

I'm running minimserver 0.72 and minimwatch. When I hit "+" for contentdir I can only add 1 more (total of 2 locations). Is it the maximum directories that can be mapped or is there another syntax for multiple directories ?

You can have up to 8 contentDir entries. To add a third entry, you need to type a value into the blank field for the second entry, then click the '+' button on either the first or second entry.

Ok, I will check tonight because I think I add a second but not able to add other hitting "+" : let's see

This would happen if you did not type a value for the second contentDir before clicking '+'.

May I request you to add more content directory options. That would help shorten the filepath to the required file in many cases. I have read that files played from the root directory sound the best. Is this true?

No, this is not true.
In any case you can also use the root directory for your contentDir setting.

The limit of 8 content directories can't be increased easily. This limit has been chosen to enable MinimServer to optimize the encoding of its internal cache data.

The sound of a file isn't affected by its directory location or the length of its filepath.

The length of the filepath URL created by MinimServer can be an issue with some control points (e.g., NAIM n-stream). If you are experiencing this filepath length problem, you would need to reduce the depth of your directory hierarchy or use shorter names for your directories or files.

I don,t really see the need for more than 8 content directories. Two or three will aready suffice in 99.5% of situations.
