License activation twice on one QNAP

Hi. I'm setting up a QNAP for a friend. It's his second QNAP I've built and he has a current MinimServer license set to expire on 9-7-2024. Earlier today, after a reboot, the Minim icon went red and the license was deactivated to Trial version. Odd since his license is current and paid for. I installed the license code again and all is well. Except this QNAP is now using two of his allotted 3 licenses. One shows the license was activated on 12-29-23 and the other on 1-2-24 for the same QNAP.

How do I get one license freed up?
