MinimServer will not start on Synology DS218+
Hi,
since a re-installation of my DS218+ MinimServer (2.2-7003) will not work again. I therefore manually deleted all MinimServer folders under /volume1 from the file system via SSH, including those under “@app...”. Only since then have I been able to reinstall MinimServer, which previously failed. Now MinimServer no longer starts. The log file shows the following: MinimServer 2.2, Copyright © 2012-2022 Simon Nash. All rights reserved. OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 14.0.1+7) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.0.1+7, mixed mode) Platform default charset is UTF-8 System platform is linux-x64 MinimServer: unable to create license directory: /var/packages/MinimServer/etc Yes, a license was installed Thank you in advance for your help to get MinimServer worked again. |

RE: MinimServer will not start on Synology DS218+
This error message is caused by your having deleted the /volume1/@apptemp/MinimServer directory. It is not advisable to use ssh to delete folders used internally by MinimServer without specific guidance received via this forum.
You can try recreating the /volume1/@apptemp/MinimServer directory using ssh. This might work or MinimServer might not run correctly because of one of the other directories you have deleted. The best way now to make sure you have a valid MinimServer installation is to completely remove MinimServer using Package Center, then reinstall it. I hope the directories you have deleted won't prevent this from working. You will need to reapply your MinimServer configuration settings after doing this. If this doesn't work, please post here with details of what error you are seeing. In future, please post to the forum if you have a problem, providing details of exactly what happened. You should get a prompt reply explaining the best way to recover from the problem. |
