Convert PLS file to M3U
Hi

This might have been asked before but I haven't see it.

Radio stations produced by Buaer (and others) now need an additional parameter attached to their URL in order for Minimserver to stream the station eg Greatest Hits Radio, today, uses the URL:

Quote:http://edge-bauermz-01-gos2.sharp-stream...1766311701

Each day the '?aw_0_1st.skey=1766311701' parameter value changes and there seem no way to compute what this might be (unless you know better?).

I can download a file from UK Radio Feeds (http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/) which contains the up to data parameter value but this is in the form of a PLS file.

Is there any way to convert a PLS file to M3U format for use with Minimserver ? Additionally if this can be done is it possible to programatically run the Minimserver 'Rescan' command from (preferably a Linux) command file ? If all of this can be achieved I can then set up a scheduled task to pull down, convert and update Minimserver on a daily basis.

Thanks in advance

Chris

RE: Convert PLS file to M3U
MinimStreamer can read PLS files, so you can put the PLS file URL into a MinimStreamer .m3u file. Nothing else is needed.

RE: Convert PLS file to M3U [SOLVED]
Simon

Thanks for this information. It seems to work just fine, the GHR connection via the PLS URL was usable yesterday and again today without me having to make any changes.

For anybody who is interested, I copied the Greatest Hits Radio (London GLN) 48K AAC link from UK Radio Feeds (http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/) into an m3u file:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,[+GHRTest] Greatest Hits Radio
http://www.radiofeeds.net/playlists/baue...london-aac

Performed a Rescan in Minimserver and hey presto I was up and running.

Thanks

Chris
