MinimServer Library Scan & Playback Issues
Hello MinimServer community,
I’m running MinimServer on my home server and I’m having trouble with large music libraries. The scan process is slow, and playback via some UPnP/DLNA clients occasionally lags. Could anyone advise on: - Best practices for fast library scanning? - Recommended settings for smoother playback across different devices? - Any known issues with album art or metadata that can slow down browsing? I appreciate any tips or configuration examples from experienced users. Thanks in advance! |

RE: MinimServer Library Scan & Playback Issues
What device are you using to run MinimServer? How many files are in your library? How long does a rescan take? Is your library local to MinimServer or is it accessed via a network share or from a USB drive?

RE: MinimServer Library Scan & Playback Issues
Can you describe (full specs) your setup?
On my setup, Minimserver running on Ubuntu/Intel Nuc8i3 with 16GB ram and 8TB (+10k albums) local library, the first scan is about 40’ and incremental scans, when few albums are updated/add, takes around 2/3 minutes. All my albums have around 20 tags managed, all with artwork, and I use tagUpdate file too. Browsing library with several apps (Lumïn, Linn, JPlay for iOS, MConnect Player) on iPhone/iPad is lightning fast |
