License error: missing serial number
Hi, I have two QNAP TS-230s, both run the same software versions. On one of them minimserver (now with full licence) works perfectly, on the other one it didn't before and I can't add the licence as it claims that: "License error: missing serial number." I can't get it to work, I uninstalled and installed it again several times, the "Licence" tab is basically unaccesible. Any idea how to get it to work? Thanks.

On QNAP, MinimServer obtains the device serial number from QNAP QTS to store as part of the license details. On a very small number of machines, QNAP QTS doesn't return the serial number correctly. This is caused by a QNAP hardware or firmware issue and can usually be fixed by QNAP technical suport.
If you login to QNAP QTS and select Control Panel > System > System Status, what do you see for the serial number? |

There is no serial number in the problematic NAS, there is in the other one. So I need to contact QNAP tech support - thank you.
